When I Was A Refugee - By Ronan.
When I was 7 years old I had to leave my county. My name is Ava and this is my story
It was a peaceful day, I was playing with my dolls and then bang the bombs came. My family came up the stairs so fast they said to me to grab my bag and some stuff quickly. So I brought some dolls and my pillow and blanket. I was frightened. I went downstairs as fast as I could and ran outside with my family. My family started to run. we ran to a forest. Then we walked for two days. I was tired, hungry and thirsty. My parents wanted to find somewhere safe. I just need some sleep, some food and water. My dad carried me and I fell asleep.
I woke up at the refugee camp, there were lots of people, there were soldiers with big guns.i was scared. I hide behind my mum and dad. Mum and dad find a tent for us to sleep in. me and my family stayed at the camp for a couple of years. I didn't go to school .It was a little bit fun playing with all the kids in the camp. There were some bikes that we rode.
My mum and dad told me that we are going to a new country. We got on a plane and it was a long flight. I have never been on a plane before. I was a little scared and a little happy.
The country is New Zealand. I have a school now. I have a home now. My family is happy in this new country.
